Avoid a post spring break/pre-derby slump
I know for us we’ve had:
-we were gone for spring break (April 3-12) & Easter
-outdoor kids sports/activies (lacrosse, baseball, gymnastics, soccer) means usually have two dinners. One at 4:30 and another at 9:15pm.
-Plus+ I want to get outside. whether it is spring cleaning, pickleball, going for a walk/run, keeneland, etc…
Anyway…for all these reasons we tend to see a drop in Face-to-Face meetings during April/May. We get busy. However, the worst time to turn off your pipeline generating activities is when you are busy.
But…..as one of my mentors once told me “You can make excuses or you can make money, but you can’t do both. You choose.”
Spring and Q2 also generally equals a 15-20% increase in referral volume over Q1. Use your extracurriculars as a time to listen for/create other opportunities for each other. Train each other on what to listen for.
So….focus on:
1- F-2-F meetings. Get a minimum of one on the board (referral report) at every meeting
2- Prioritize attendance. Referrals thrive on meeting attendance. It is where we engage with each other collectively, generate energy, and create opportunities for each other.
Suggestions: Don’t let your F-2-F meetings slip. They dont’ all have to be in-person.
1- at every meeting make it a point to schedule at least one F-2-F meeting
2- Setup a call or zoom with a member &/or guest
3- Always ask the other person “What I can do right now to help you out? Have answer to that question and then take a shot to help them. Nothing drives referrals like taking a shot to help somone.
The formula for success in our groups is easy, but not simple. Consistently showing up and working the process with a positive mindset produces the best results in the long run!
