Presenter Tips….Preparation Matters
-When using a AV/Powerpoint….still have a handout with specific targets list and your BIO
*you might spend 45-90 seconds on a slide with specific targets. Let the group see your targets as a handout for the entire meeting.  Way more effective!
-Copies of handout for all members +5 extra for prospective guests
-Time yourself
-Max time:  20 total minutes is MAX
-15 minutes to present, 5 for Q&A and take all 5 minutes of Q&A
-Please leave  5+ minutes for questions, resist the urge to wrap up or make one more point.
-Let the group ask questions.  Referrals come from questions

Highly Suggested uploading the Member BIO Template in Downloads tab

Always
1-Arrive early on the day you present to get setup
2-Have a visual
3-Upload your BIO or presentation in Downloads tab of www.TheReferralsGroup.com/login  as a pdf file
*I see so many AV problems that would be avoided if this was done in advance

Our Presentation Philosophy
An effective presentation in The Referrals Group turns your audience into active referral generators for your business. Your 15-minute presentation should hover around two core premises:

1.Teaching the Room How to Spot Opportunities
Your primary goal is to educate fellow members on how to act as your extended sales team. Focus on:

-Trigger Words & Phrases: Tell members exact phrases to listen for in daily conversations (e.g., “We’re outgrowing our current space” or “I can never get a straight answer on my taxes”).
-Life Events & Key Transitions: Define the exact moments people need your service (e.g., home purchase, job change, business expansion, family transition).
-Red Flags & Pain Points: Detail the common problems your ideal clients complain about so members recognize when someone needs you.
Bonus:  Include an example tee up script and/or role play

2. Presenting your Business
Give members parameters so they know who to look for and how to help you.  Focus on:
-Clear Goals: State what success looks like for you this quarter, year, other (e.g., number of new client acquisitions, revenue targets, or specific industry connections).
-Target Market: Define your ideal client profile by demographic, revenue size, location, or industry niche.
-Centers of Influence (COIs): List the complementary professionals who share your target customer (e.g., CPAs, estate attorneys, realtors, mortgage brokers) to build strategic cross-referral partnerships.
-Specific Target List: Name 10+, decision-makers, or exact titles you want warm introductions to.
-Give us a QR Code to give you a review: Take us directly to your Google (or other) review page, giving the room an immediate call to action to boost your online visibility.

Bonus:  have fun!  Encourage members to take a shot to setup a specific or COI introduction.  Give out pens, candy, swag, restaurant gift cards etc to those who do
